Ted Leitner - Biographical Brief

2012 marks Ted Leitner`s 33rd season behind the microphone for "My Padres.”

Now in his 34th year broadcasting in San Diego, Leitner is also the voice of San Diego State University Aztecs football and basketball, as well as a weekly contributor to Channel 4 San Diego`s postgame sportscast and a frequent guest on XX Sports radio. In addition, he is one of the nation`s most accomplished public speakers.

Leitner spent 25 years as sports anchor for CBS-TV in San Diego.

Leitner`s previous play-by-play credits include the National Football League`s San Diego Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles, the National Basketball Association`s San Diego Clippers, the University of Oklahoma and the University of Connecticut.

Leitner studied TV and radio broadcasting at Oklahoma State University and earned his Master`s degree in communications from the University of Oklahoma in Norman.

A fixture in San Diego civic life, he has served as master of ceremonies at many Padres events over the years, including Opening Day ceremonies, the club`s Annual Awards Dinner, shareholders events and the First Pitch Luncheon.

Leitner has six sons: twins Nicholas and Ryan, Mark, Matthew, Jordan and Teddy, and one daughter, Kristin.
